We went online to see the previews for the movie that's coming out, "Valentine's Day" and we can't wait to go! My favorite actors Anne Hathaway (who will be introducing the Oscars this year)and Jessica Alba are in the movie. My sister, Mei Mei, asked "Since George Lopez  is in the movie will his little boy Max from his TV show also be in it?" (Mei Mei has a crush on Maximilian "Max" Lopez and wishes he would create a website!) And my best friend, DotComplicated, asked if Taylor Swift will sing in the movie

The only person I know who isn't excited is Serge deFault. He says, "I'm glad I'm not old enough to date 'cause some girl would probably make me go to this girl's movie." Serge is proud of being a geek and spends a lot of time on a new search engine, SearchGeek, trying to find out how to create a remotely controlled body like they have in "Avatar" — that's a movie he wants to see for the tenth time!

to audition for the new YouTube Symphony Orchestra. Ninety musicians

MeiMei:

We recently learned about Alia Sabur, who became the world's
youngest professor at 18, according to The Guinness Book of
World Records. She was hired three days before her 19th birthday
to teach at Konkuk University in Seoul, South Korea.

Alia started college at the age of ten and went on to earn a Ph.D. in
materials science and engineering. Wow! She’s also an accomplished
clarinetist. We wish her well, especially since she’s directing some of
her research toward curing diseases. You can read about her and
watch a video of her on a Today Show interview here.

I really like Kina Grannis’ singing! She’s the 22-year-old singer/songwriter
who won the Doritos “Crash the Super Bowl” music contest last Sunday.

Wow…when Computious and the rest of us moved from the
Washington, D.C. area (Georgetown; Dupont Circle; Northern
Virginia) to Southern California, we had no idea how much
talent there is at UC Irvine! Now that we live in Irvine, we
hear about it. The other day we read about Karen Chau,
creator of Ni Hao, Kai-Lan. She studied digital art at UCI.

Today we learned about Kaba Modern, a top-tier "dance crew."
They’re an award-winning “street dance” team selected to
compete in MTV’s Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best
Dance Crew. Kaba Modern is performing tomorrow night on
the show. I LOVE to dance, but the show will be on past my
bedtime. Here’s a YouTube video of them at the Hip Hop
Internationals 2007: World Finals, where they won the Silver!

Sweet & Sour the Pig:

One of MeiMei’s favorite singers, Celine Dion, will be performing

this evening on the American Music Awards. She just came

out with a new album. One of our favorite songs she’s 

recorded, though, is “Beauty and the Beast” (duet with Peabo

   CELINE DION         Bryson). It won an Academy Award. Celine always gets
