Yesterday we saw "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.”  Wow! Talk about stunning visuals. And Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow is hilarious.

In a few hours, a battle for a different kind of treasure begins. The Pittsburgh Pirates will be playing the San Diego Padres in the first of a three-game series. Too bad Captain Jack (Sparrow) won’t be able to help out!

So now, the NEA and the National Parent Teacher Association (“PTA”) are creating the “Nation’s Largest Teacher Thank You Card” to thank the three million public school teachers in the U.S.  And we can help — fun!  

We have until December 28, 2007 to send an e-card or to mail a thank-you card. Celebrities and other well-known people have sent cards, including Oprah Winfrey, Hilary Swank, Ed Lu (NASA Astronaut), many athletes, and public officials. Then all the cards will be combined into one giant card that will visit major U.S. cities and special events, starting in the spring of 2008. Can’t wait!

Starting this Monday, May 14, U.S. postage rates change:

 
First-Class Mail envelope, first ounce, goes up two cents to 41 cents. But each additional ounce is now 17 cents (versus 24 cents previously).

 
Small postcards also go up two cents, to 26 cents.

Priority Mail, up to the first pound, went up 55 cents to $4.60.

This is a brief entry. (The study that found females talk almost three times as much as males is true in my case!)

Millions of people right now are interested in the latest developments of the Paris Hilton jail sentence story. That’s not going to stop me from talking about my favorite topic, though. Me! 

Yes, I want to be a star. Computious tells me a good way to start is by shining in my own life. Here are a few things that make me feel like a star:

Being a “tiger” like Tiger Woods: fierce in discipline and accomplishment; although he’s a lot more low-key than I am.

Having someone clean my room on my birthday (like the jungle animal tiger, I’m extremely clean!)

Getting a therapeutic massage after I’ve had a stressful week controlling my sarcasm.

Using smooth-feeling high thread-count sheets for my basket bed.

And, okay, it does make me feel good to volunteer for good causes. I’ve put in a request to help out at “TigerJam.” That’s the benefit concert to raise money for the Tiger Woods Foundation.This year is its 10^th anniversary and Bon Jovi will star. It’s co-sponsored by AT&T
