                      RODIN-INSPIRED 'e-thinker' SHIRT      

MeiMei:

A few days ago my Aunt Chris took her three sons (ages 15, 14,
and 11) to the Rodin: Expression & Influence sculpture exhibit at
the Baltimore Museum of Art. They were not thrilled to go. (They
would have preferred playing Guitar Hero!) But Aunt Chris had won
a private tour of the exhibit, and they agreed it’d be good to get
exposure to “fine art.” I love some of the funny comments my

cousins made about the sculptures. “How can you call something
half-finished ‘art’?” “Anybody can do that.” LOL! Thank you cousins
Mike, Kevin, and Matt for making me laugh so much. I did, though,
enjoy reading about Auguste Rodin’s interesting life. And his art IS
beautiful!

                           BIRTHDAY GREETING CARDS

never gave the idea much thought. My birthday is July 28th, and today

Congratulations to Kirsten Haglund, who was crowned Miss America

2008 last night! She represented Michigan and comes from Farmington Hills,

a suburb of Detroit. She’s 19 years old, studies music at the University of

Cincinnati, and would like to be a Broadway star. So now Kristen has a

$50,000 scholarship and a year-long travel schedule to talk about the
 
pageant, her platform issue (eating disorders, from which she has
 
recovered), and the Children’s Miracle Network. Thank you to the

I love looking at Town & Country magazine. One of my

favorites! The February issue (at left) has a fascinating

section on women and money. One of the women quoted

brought tears to my eyes, in response to the question

“What is the best advice you ever got from someone about money?”.

Her father, who died when she was four, used to read Cinderella to

her. When she asked him what happened if the glass slipper didn’t fit,

he told her that was why she was going to college – so that she

could always buy her own glass slippers. Wow!
