My mom likes to read The Wall Street Journal. She was laughing over
a funny opinion piece about social climbing on Facebook. Written by
lawyer and investigative reporter Jeffrey Scott Shapiro, it’s entitled
Confessions of A Facebook Social Climber. His Facebook celebrity-
seeking journey starts when his “friend request” to Pierce Bush,
nephew to former president George W. Bush, is accepted. He
wonders how many other well-known prospective friends he has in
Facebook Land. 

Soon, former Republican House Majority Leader Dick Armey,
Bob Woodward, Kristy Swanson, and possibly Charlie Sheen have

                                                     "THINGS ARE LOOKING UP"

One of my mother’s friends is looking for a job. Yes, during these more
economically challenging times! A friend gave her a helpful article to manage
the stress. It’s the weekly column by popular author and business speaker
Harvey Mackay, entitled “The Second Ten Commandments.”

These “commandments” are valuable (I need to apply them!) and include:

I. Thou shall not worry, for worry is the most unproductive of all human
activities. A day of worry is more exhausting than a day of work. People
get so busy worrying about yesterday or tomorrow, they forget about
today. And today is what you have to work with.

II. Thou shall not be fearful, for most of the things we fear never come to
pass. Every crisis we face is multiplied when we act out of fear. Fear is a self-
fulfilling emotion. When we fear something, we empower it. If we refuse to
concede to our fear, there is nothing to fear.

III. Thou shall not cross bridges before you come to them, for no one yet
has succeeded in accomplishing this. Solve the issues before you right now.
Tomorrow's problems may not even be problems when tomorrow comes!
